The Taiwanese government has been adopting various measures in a bid to revive the indigenous languages in the past decade, especially through workshops and language classes via compulsory education. In 2001, the indigenous Peoples Commission of Taipei launched the language nest for the urban indigenous kids. And in 2005, CIP instituted the indigenous languages proficiency assessment test.
