Call of Duty 4 sniper training program#1
BackPLEASE READ!!!!! This is a video that I made, as a little tutorial on good sniping in COD4. This wasn't really edited, excepted for putting all the scenes together. Below is the script/notes I took preparing for doing this, and since I was running low on time, I could not cover all of the topics. Although, here are my notes: Sniper Basic Training Program 1. The role of a sniper a. Support troops b. Take out enemy snipers c. Cover retreats/movement 2. Two types of sniper a. Traditional i. Lies in wait ii. One shot, one kill iii. Patient iv. Not overly ambitious v. Knows role vi. Separate from main force vii. Penetrates enemy lines viii. Engages at large distances ix. Disrupts enemy tactics, movement x. Observe the enemy xi. Not many deaths, moderate amount of kills xii. Demoralizes the enemy force b. "Moving sniper" i. ACOG scope preferred ii. Moving everywhere iii. Stays with the main force iv. Engages at close proximity v. Used in closer combat 3. Moving a. Stay relatively quiet b. Low crawls and does not sprint c. Does not attract attention d. Sometimes goes behind enemy lines 4. Claymores a. Very important for urban conflicts b. Not as necessary for woodland fights c. Not as much of a need for a spotter d. Placed at strategic choke points—building entrances e. "Offers peace of mind" 5. Pistols a. Should be silenced b. Used at close combat c. Needs to be mastered for success d. Vital for success and surviving 6. The sniper rifle a. Either bolt action or semi automatic b. Fires are very powerful shot c. Very accurate at long distances d. An optical site which helps in precision shooting e. Gives off a large muzzle flash f. Not good in a firefight g. Large recoil on some rifles i. Barrett .50 Cal 1. good firing rate 2. good damage 3. good accuracy 4. good mobility ii. R700 1. slow firing rate 2. great damage 3. moderate accuracy 4. good mobility iii. Dragunov 1. good firing rate 2. good damage 3. moderate accuracy 4. good mobility iv. M21 1. great firing rate 2. moderate damage 3. bad accuracy 4. good mobility v. M40A3 1. slow firing rate 2. good damage 3. great accuracy 4. good mobility 7. Camouflage a. In an woodland environment, given a ghillie suit b. Laying down offers great protection c. Use small hills to your advantage d. Put on woodland camouflage for your rifle e. Shoot from a hidden spot 8. Positioning a. Away from the main battle b. Have spotter in a more open, yet still concealed spot, so that they can pick targets i. The spotter should have a sniper as primary weapon, then overkill, then an automatic assault rifle in woodland conflicts 1. Although, this can still be very useful none the less in urban fighting, although expect 2 shots to kill someones c. Change locations after every kill (or shot if you prefer) d. Watch for new enemy spawn point e. Be able to look out, but not have people look in f. Watch for muzzle flashes g. When scanning a large area zoom out, and look for MOVEMENT h. (Woodland) i. Tall grass ii. In a bush iii. Behind a tree iv. Have the spotter watch for targets that may sneak up i. (Urban) i. In the back of a room ii. Do not have the barrel sticking out of the room iii. Set up claymores in entrances iv. Try to get up on a table or chairs 9. Perks a. Perk #1 i. Bandolier ii. Claymores iii. Special grenades x3 b. Perk#2 i. Stopping power ii. UAV jammer iii. Overkill c. Perk #3 i. Iron lungs ii. Deep impact iii. Dead silence
