COOKING: Chili
BackSo, this is kind of like watching Semi Homemade on TFN! This is a non-spicy chili. I serve it with some bread, and the amount of the chili I make here serves the two of us for about four meals. Here are my ingredients; which you can vary according to your own taste: 1 large or two small onions, diced several cloves of fresh garlic, minced 1 large can of crushed tomatoes 1 can of pinto beans, drained and rinsed A pack of chili seasoning 1 or 2 pound package of ground beef, depending on your preference 2 green peppers Brown your ground beef, onions, and garlic. I always add salt and pepper to taste with this. Do not drain the juice when finished browning; transfer everything to a big pot and add your chili seasoning, beans, crushed tomatoes and green peppers. Cook on a low-medium heat for approximately an hour and a half, stirring occasionally, until your peppers are nice and soft. You can also serve your chili with sour cream and cheese, if you like that. :) Simple and hearty! Reheats well. EDIT: You guys, this stuff is all gone, in three servings! LOL! Hubby ate a good chunk of it and wants me to make some more TOMORROW!
