Anything Is Possible: Living History Performance

Back

Bring the whole family on the first Sunday of the month to see this engaging 45 minute living history performance at Vulcan Park and Museum! Veteran actors Frank Thompson and Quinton Cockrell weave the story of the people, materials, and ideas that transformed Birmingham from a sleepy cornfield in Jones Valley to a dynamic industrial city and the cradle of the modern civil rights era. Students encounter a host of Birmingham visionaries, including John Milner, James MacKnight, Giuseppe Moretti, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Over 130 years of Birmingham and American history are covered in this engaging work by UAB playwright-in-residence Lee Shackleford. Performance lasts approximately 45 minutes and is appropriate for all ages 5+. Admission for this one-of-a-kind experience is included with entrance to the Vulcan Center Museum and the Observation Balcony.
