Archway not here to Stay
BackEmploymentCrossing.com Archway cookie bakery in Ashland, Ohio has closed its doors in a rather stealth manner. Workers recently noticed on Friday night that some supervisors were changing locks. Then by design on Saturday workers received letters that the bakery was shutting down and their benefits were canceled. Jobs at the bakery paid from $14-$18 dollars an hour, but they had health insurance. For 19 years Terry Mowery worked in the Maintenance at Archway and didnt see this coming. Mowery expresses, The town of Ashland is a dying townAll the manufacturing is leaving. Politics in this town and the declining economy has changed the view points of many. With the loss of their jobs most are rethinking their positions and are choosing very carefully between Obama and McCain in the next presidential election. Which one will aid there small town living? Which one will bring jobs to the area? That has become the main focus for those recently out of work.
