Beijing-Tianjin express railway starts month-long trial WATCH VIDEOSource: CCTV.com 07-01-2008 12:57 The Beijing-Tianjin Inter-city Express Rail is starting a one month trail-run Tuesday, and it will be put into official operation on August 1st. The Ministry of Railways says the train will be tested without passengers, and will run continuously at five-minute intervals during the first 2 weeks. For the second half of July, all trains will run the route at 3 minutes intervals.China begun constructing the express line in July 2005, and the country has been testing it since March this year. The Beijing-Tianjin express railway is the country's first locally developed express railway, with a top speed of over 300 kilometers per hour. The 115 km journey will take just 27 minutes.
