March From The Merry War (BBC1 1987-1990)

Back

BBC1 did have some classical pieces which accompanied their trade test transmissions, given that in the early 1970s they had some particularly striking pieces, and apart from the long-running Bach tape, which ran for an incredible fourteen years, BBC1 also had the Six Pieces from the Children's Album by Tchaikovsky in February 1985 to replace Happy Polka; well, up until the short-term release of Turkish March in October 1990 BBC1 had the equally compelling March From The Merry War during this period, with a very interesting piece entitled Someone Will Be Lucky Today. Enjoy!!!!
