Underwater Cutting

Back

Operating from barges and ships Bluegrass offshore technicians have made numerous cuts in the Gulf of Mexico at depths of forty-five to two hundred thirty feet. Durations ranging from fifteen minutes to three hours were routine when cutting the sixteen to forty-four inch diameter rig legs, casings, and other rig structures. Each cut was accomplished using a single wire reducing vessel and diver time to a minimum, while enhancing available time for other activities.
