Dialética - artwork by Mariana Manhães
BackDIALÉTICA is a gadget created by visual artist Mariana Manhães (www.marianamanhaes.com). Videos in MP4 players show images of two glass cups that talk and breathe. These devices are part of an electronic organism made of circuits, wood, motors and other materials. The electronic circuits perceive the sounds of the videos, switching on motors installed in the body of the work, causing its movements and sounds. Both structures can be interconnected - sound commands in them can provoke movements in one another. The work has an autistic behaviour - the two strucutres solely interact between themselves.
