BackChapter 3 Kevin: So, how do you like L.A.? Jessica: We haven't really had time to look around. All I know is that the hotel we are staying at sucks! It was the only one I could afford though. Kevin: Hey, I have an idea. Joe and Nick can I talk to you for a minute? Joe and Nick: Yeah! Nick, Joe, and Kevin talk for a while. The girls begin to get nervous. They all come back with huge smiles on their faces. Joe: We have a question to ask you, and we are hoping you say yes. Elizabeth: Yeah, what is it? Kevin: We were wondering if you guys could come on tour with us? Since you missed the concert you deserve to see at least one, and we all agree that you guys are really fun. Elizabeth: OMG! Jessica! PLEASE!! Julia: Come on Jessica! Nick: You guys probably should call your parents first. Jessica: Umm....actually our parents.... Julia: Jessica is our legal guardian. Our parents died about a year ago. Kevin: Oh! That's terrible! I am so sorry! Julia: Please! It is way better than our stinky hotel room! Elizabeth: Please! Please! Jessica: Fine, yes! The girls all scream! Kevin: Awesome! We have two extra beds in the tour bus, and the couch is a pull out. Joe: This is going to be a lot more fun! Elizabeth: Wait so you guys have 5 beds on your tour bus? Nick: Yeah, well we have one for Frankie if he comes on the bus with us, and another one for our parents if they come. Julia: Cool! Your tour bus seems pretty awesome. Joe: Do you want to see it? Julia, Jessica, and Elizabeth: Yeah! The boys take them to the tour bus. They open the door and get in. Kevin: So, how do you like it? Julia: Whoa! This is amazing! Nick: Julia, how about I show you the music room. Julia: Yeah! Cool! Lets go! Joe: Elizabeth, why don't I show you my room! Elizabeth: Lead the way! Kevin: Um...I guess its just you and me now. Jessica: Yep.... Kevin: Is it true about your parents? How have you been taking care of your sisters all by yourself? Jessica: Well, I have been working two jobs. I also baby-sit for people as much as I can. Kevin: Are you going to college? Jessica: I have been taking an online course. Kevin: What are you studying? Jessica: I am really into fashion. I have always designed my own clothes. I remember my favorite gift from my parents was a fashion design kit. I was 7 years old when they gave it to me. Kevin: I guess that's something we have in common. I love fashion too! Jessica: I know, you have amazing taste! I have always wanted to start my own clothing line. I read in a magazine that you always wanted one too! Kevin: Awesome! You could draw up some ideas and maybe we could put some outfits together. Who knows, maybe we will be business partners one day. Jessica: Cool! -With Joe and Elizabeth- Joe: So this is my room! Elizabeth: Cool! Joe: I am so glad Jessica allowed you guys to come with us! I really like you and would like to get to know you better. Elizabeth: I know! I feel the exact same way! I would like to think I know everything about you, but I only know what's in the magazines. And who knows what is true and what's not. Joe: Yeah. Your sister Jessica seems like she would be perfect for Kevin. Elizabeth: Jessica has had a crush on Kevin for years. She is the best sister ever. Kevin seems like a really nice guy and all I want is for Jess to be happy. Joe: I know this is a sensitive subject, but how did you get through your parents dying? Elizabeth: It was really hard for all of us. Especially Julia....she became really shy and never talks much anymore. Joe: What about you? Elizabeth: I was in denial for a really long time. It finally hit me about 6 months ago. Like, that I will never see them again. * A single tear drops down her face * Joe: I'm sorry I didn't mean to bring up all those emotions. * he wipes the tear off her face with his thumb * (Joe leans in to kiss her, but she pushes him away) Elizabeth: Sorry, but I think that was a little quick! Joe: Oh....I am so sorry! I just thought.... Elizabeth: I mean of course we can do that when we are boyfriend and girlfriend but... Joe: Well, do you want to be my girlfriend? What will she say?
