A Jobromance: Accidentally in Love (Chapter 10)
BackA JOBROMANCE: ACCIDENTALLY IN LOVE CHAPTER 10 *the next morning, with the Jonas Brothers* MR JONAS: Have you boys seen Kevin at all this morning? I don't think he's gotten out of bed yet and when he came home last night, he seemed pretty upset. JOE: No, but we'll go check on him, come on Nick. (they walk up to Kevin's room and knock on the door) NICK: Kevin, can we come in? KEVIN: No, I just want to be alone to think. JOE: What are you thinking about? KEVIN: Nothing, just leave me alone. NICK: Kev, please let us in. KEVIN: Fine, whatever. (opens door) NICK: What happened with Jessica last night? KEVIN: I really don't know. We got in a fight over something I was trying to protect her from, and now I've blown every chance we ever had together. JOE: What did you say? KEVIN: I think it's what I didn't say that bothered her. She asked me a question I didn't want to answer, and I just told her that she "wouldn't understand". Now, she hates me. NICK: What did she ask you? KEVIN: I don't want to talk about it. Can we just focus on the concert tonight, and worry about girls later. *with the girls* JESSICA: And then I ran out of the coffee shop, he tried to stop me to explain, but I didn't care anymore. It's over. The window of opportunity has closed for anything to happen between us. VALERIE: Why didn't you let him explain? I'm sure that didn't help the situation. JESSICA: Well, no I guess it didn't, but whatever. He had plenty of time to explain and he didn't. So his loss. I'm going home to take a shower; I'll call you guys later. HILARY: Ok, are you still coming to the concert tonight? JESSICA: I don't think so, I really don't want to face Kevin right now. Tell me how it is when you get home tonight, though, bye! (leaves room) VALERIE: I wonder if Kevin is over it, too. HILARY: I don't know, but I think I have a plan to get them together. *that night an half hour before the concert stared* (The boys were just finishing up their sound check as the girls arrived. Kevin felt butterflies in his stomach when he saw that there were only two girls present, and neither of the girls were the one he was looking for.) NICK: Hey! (hugs Valerie) JOE: Hello there. (kisses Hilary) KEVIN: So, I guess Jess isn't coming tonight? HILARY: (exchanges a glance with Valerie) Well, no, but when you have a sec can Val and I talk to you? KEVIN: Sure, let's talk now. (walks them over to a corner) What's up? VALERIE: Well, Jess is really upset about what happened last night, and we were just wondering why you couldn't just answer her last night. KEVIN: Truthfully, it's because I care about her and I didn't want her heart to get broken. It's the whole reason I didn't want to date her in the first place, but it led to her heart being broken anyway. ...I am so stupid. HILARY: Wait, so you didn't want to be her boyfriend because you were afraid of breaking up? KEVIN: Sort of, but its more than that. Between my brothers and I, I've seen plenty of girlfriends. Every time we have to leave to go on tour or move on to a different city, the girl gets her heart ripped apart. I care about Jessica way too much to let that happen to her. VALERIE: If you care about her so much, you won't let that happen to her. There's no way you can protect her from ever getting hurt, but at least you'll be there for her. KEVIN: What happens at the end of the summer when we go back to L.A.? HILARY: You can't think about that yet. Just think about the present, the end of the summer is a long way away, don't worry about that yet. If you still have the feelings for her that you have right now, you'll make your relationship work. KEVIN: It's just so...scary. VALERIE: Yeah, but so are a lot of things. You just have to get over it. KEVIN: So, do you think Jessica will still take me? HILARY: (smiles) We'll see if there's something we can do to help ya out. KEVIN: Ok, thank you so much, guys. I gotta go get ready for the show, see you after. VALERIE: Alright, good luck. (Kevin leaves) Did you get that all recorded? HILARY: Yep, loud and clear. [A.N. Hilary's plan was to secretively record it on her phone, then send it to Jess] I'm sending it to her right now. *with Jessica* (her phone beeps, and sees that she up...it's the whole reason I didn't want to date her in the first place...I am so stupid...the girl gets her heart ripped apart. I care about Jessica way too much to let that happens to her...you'll make your relationship work...So, do you think Jessica will still take me?) JESSICA: (a grin creeps across her face as she dials Hilary's number) HILARY: Hello. JESSICA: Thanks for that. HILARY: It was my pleasure, Jessica. I left your backstage pass in your mailbox if your still interested in coming, but I gotta go, the concert is about to start. (hangs up) Will Jessica show up to the concert? Will Kevin and Jessica FINALLY get together?
