OS FT 120 II run and thrust test
BackWatch (and listen to) my OS FT120 engine running with its new exhaust system: The old big custom made silencer is now replaced by two seperate standard single-cylinder-mufflers to gain more power for better aerotowing. Especially watch seconds 30-35; you see the tubes blowing out smoke reciprocally when accelerating the engine! From ~6700 RPM with the old one it runs amazing 8200 RPM now with an 18x6" G-SONIC prop! In flight I feel this difference very well and at the rubber band test stand there is also ~1,5cm more elongation. Although I don't know exactly the thrust force (I think its ~5kp) my stand is still useful to compare different props. The only disadvantage is that the plane now isn't the most silent one in our club any more. :(
