Shadow Priest Tanking - The Curator

Back

This is a video on tanking raid bosses as a Shadow Priest. Achieved on a live server by the guild Everlastin Goblinstomper (Uldaman-US; Horde) on 10/11/2008. The Shadow Priest tank is Eeden. Music: Raiden - "Infection (E-Sassin Remix)" Things of note -- This came as a result of guildies joking about it. I finally decided to just give it a try, so this is a one-shot attempt. There were a few points where I was Astral Flare tanking as well due to the threat produced from Vampiric Embrace and Vampiric Touch. How this is possible -- A very precise spec (18/0/43), lots of PvP gear, and a competent raid group. The basic premise of how it works is: armor value and dodge. You still have to be uncrittable (although uncrushability is an impossibility for a Priest due to cloth itemization) and at least 12k health is almost required. You need to be able to survive the crushes that are coming your way. Power Word: Shield and Inner Fire need to be kept up as much as possible. Touch of Weakness is amazing for damage mitigation. On top of all of this you still need to be able to do enough DPS to maintain adequate threat as well as a capped spell hit rating. I had around 290 Resilience, 371 or so Defense Rating, and around 11% dodge. I also had around 820 spell damage and was a little overcapped on spell hit. Thanks for watching! =) Sorry about the bad video quality, I don't have the most sleek and awesome computer =(
