I ended up making this over the weekend. I think it turned out pretty good. It seemed more like a cobbler than a cake. At least mine did. I even used the same kind of Mountain Dew. :)

Yummy! That's a super idea with the mixed berries. I make this with canned, unsweetened cherries & add some sugar to the cherries and juice. It makes a tarter version & is terrific.

I remember my Mum making a dump cake when I was a kid, she made it with the cherries. Oh man, if I remember correctly it ROCKS with ice cream on top... I agree with you the cake should be warm. Oh yummy :) Nice desert for the forth. Gigi

My mom makes dump cake. I so totally love it! At holiday time she makes pumpkin dump cake. However, I don't think she uses soda. I think she puts pats of butter on top? Hmmm. I don't know it that's right, but seems butter is in there somewhere.
