If your planning on running the secondary battery be sure to wire up some mechanism to shut your cell of while the car isn't running. Power can usually just be run off a pin in the ignition or some other electrical system, but with a secondary battery extra care would need to be taken. Just my two bits.

I just modified the cell to 8 plates. It goes like this + n n n n n n - . Plate spacing is 1/16 and current draw is 2-5 amps even with an insane amount of baking soda as in over 1 Tablespoon for 700ml water. Thats like 5x what most people use! No clue what the ouput is, but its nothing that high. Maybe 1/4 Liter / min.

Well I'm quite sure its 304 grade or higher. It hasn't rusted / corroded a single bit yet!
The plates are 1/32" thick. They have 1/8" holes pre-drilled. So I just drill one of them out more to 7/16" then use 1/32" nylon washers. They sell these in 4 sizes. From standard switch cover size to 4 switch covers in one size.
How much are your custom cuts of 316L?

What thickness and grade stainless steel is that? That is super cheap and I thought my custom cuts were the cheapest on the market. I use 316L 20 gauge stainless steel. I know for a fact that the ss cups will corrode 4x faster then 316L was just wondering what Lowes sells since there isnt one up here.

Skytech5000 I took your advice and wired two 4 plate cells in sires only to get crappy output. Before I was getting 1/2 liter per minute @ 15 amps, and now I'm getting 300-400ml a minute @ 15 amps. With them wired in parallel they draw almost 30 amps and put out 800ml per minute. With your 5 plate config are you using any neutral plates?

Interesting, thanks for your comment skyteck5000. I've actually pretty much ditched the wall plate design for now. I'm using SS cups. I just put together a 4 plate cell using 4x2.5oz cups, and am seeing much better output at less current than my 8 SS wall plates.
In my final cell I plan to use 10 2.5oz cups mounted in a 3x10" ABS pipe. In the future though I'll try multiple cells.
Do you know how many liters per minute you are getting out of your two cells with 5 plates @ 10 amps 12v?

You don't need 30amps to power the HHO generator for a car (a motor home yes). I built two cells with 5ea SS wall plates and hooked them in series and mounted them in a 6 inch heavy PVC pipe. It only pulls 10amps and produces enough HHO for a big rig truck. When you run the cells in series it cuts the voltage and amps down. High volts and amps equal heat making steam, water vapor, and high water consumption. It only takes 2 volts to make HHO any more goes to making heat.

An alternator for the car would run me about $120 + instalation $30 or so. But I'm still a little against installing a more powerful alternator. I can feel when I turn on the AC, the car working harder. I don't want to put too much stress on such an old under powered car.
There are some batteries out there that have a 3-5 year warranty. I might get one of those and get a charger for $50.
I might put it in the trunk. In the front there is only 9" clearence, height wise.

like the idea of a separate batt for the bubbler because it does lower the load on your car but i do believe if u do upgrade the alternator and get a higher amperage it would be cheaper in the end because with the batt you have to pay for charging and the acid will need to get changed so i think the best thing to do is fork up the extra money now and make money in the end p.s when you do mount the cell put it in the back and route the pipes and wiring more safe and you can put two arrestors
