I think it is an acoustic piano with metal on the hammers. Some folks used to put thumb tacks on the hammers to make that tinkly sound. Or it might be a harpsichord.

Haha wow. Is that so? Why? Because of the accent or the fact she's asking you to come over her house? Wow. It's funny how as children (and sometimes as adults) don't take things in "that" way and just sing along innocently. My grandmother was taught that song as a child by her movie-going cousin/teacher when they would learn English through songs. Anyway, I'll still cherish the song. It's still undeniably great!
