A Japanese PS2 WOULD help, because it's an NTSC/J game. However, you can also use a region converter like SwapMagic to trick your own console (European or American) to play the game itself. It would also prove cheaper, seeing as you're paying £/$100+ for the foreign console and another bit for shipping.
